He is a seasoned banker. He started his career at the Central Bank of Nigeria in 1977 after his graduation from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University). He was at one time with NAL Merchant Bank Plc. and was the Head of the Corporate Finance Department of the bank before he left in 1989. He was the pioneer Deputy Managing Director of Citi Trust Merchant Bank Limited (now Union Merchant Bank Limited). He has been in his own business since he left Citi Trust Merchant Bank Limited in 1989.
